Emma de la Fosse

Chief Creative Officer, UK

Emma is a rare breed of creative leader with a much sought-after mix of creative skills and experience, highly relevant for today’s world.

From starting out as a copywriter at a creative boutique advertising agency, she went on to run OgilvyOne with partner Charlie Wilson. Under their leadership, OgilvyOne became the most highly awarded digital and direct agency in the UK, spearheading a creative revolution. Emma was promoted to become the first ever Group Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy UK, a 2,500 strong company incorporating brand advertising, social, design, customer engagement, PR and B2B agencies. After 3 years at the helm, she was recruited to be CCO for one of the UK’s foremost digital agencies, Digitas UK, a company whose creative fortunes and reputation she helped to rebuild. Proving that creativity is a truly transferable skill, she was appointed the CCO of Edelman UK, the world’s largest and most successful PR and Comms agency, in 2023.

As well as leading agencies to creative and commercial success, Emma has also been the ECD for many famous brands such as IBM, British Airways, British Gas, Kimberly Clark and Kelloggs. She has helped those clients, and more, to win the top industry awards, recognising creative excellence and effectiveness in brand, integrated, digital, direct and mobile creativity. She and her teams have landed every major International award from D&AD Yellow Pencils, Cannes Grand Prix, One Show ‘Best in Show’ and DMA Grand Prix through to multiple Effie awards for effectiveness. In 2020 Emma was awarded a lifetime achievement medal recognising outstanding creativity in customer marketing; the Caples Andi Emerson award.

Emma was also awarded an accreditation from the IPA in Brand Strategy and puts her success down to her strategically driven, media agnostic approach to challenges, flexing the power of creativity across multiple platforms and channels. She leads by example, believes firmly in a meritocracy, and can still roll up her sleeves and pitch in when needed.

She is a much-requested judge at industry awards, a frequent contributor for publications such as WARC and Campaign Magazine and is a speaker at various industry events. She also leads a popular Masterclass for D&AD in Creativity and Media. However, her biggest thrill is taking agencies and clients on a creative adventure, inspiring them to produce work they didn’t think themselves capable of. Ultimately, Emma is a creative leader who inspires and encourages all those around her to greater creativity.
